Bradley.Basso London/Venice specialize in the design, production and installation of architectural glass art, glass art, custom stained glass design and mosaic art.

The partnership, works from London and Venice, in conjunction with specialist professionals from the UK and Italy. ‘Our innovative use of glass and mosaic combines creative input in response to space, with multiple techniques and high quality craftsmanship.’

Ray Bradley (UK) and Denise MT Basso (Italy) formed their partnership having established a close working relationship and recognized common interests in potential new applications for architectural glass art and mosaic. The union combines long international experience of custom stained glass design supporting the dynamic of a new creative glass art capability.

Gradually, over proceeding years, stained glass has become a generic term for various contemporary glass installations in architecture. No longer just custom designed stained glass, but transparent, translucent and reflective glass surfaces that can introduce colour and modulate the transmission of light in the built environment.

Bradley.Basso use their skills in the creation, production and installation of commissioned works of architectural glass art and mosaic, using various techniques involved with etched and acid embossed glass, sandblasted glass, gilded and enamelled glass and stained glass, to provide function, concept, aesthetics and ambience, in response to the context, place, space, and public interaction.

We explore and emphasize the intimate relationships of light, form and space, to orchestrate the boundaries between the interior and exterior, between contemporary glass expression and traditional stained glass; glass art and glass design; architectural glass art and architecture; the traditional craft and contemporary expression of mosaic.’

Complementing their glasswork, a close collaboration with the Venetian mosaic artist Lucio Orsoni enables them to explore this precious medium as a creative parallel. Venetian mosaic, with its vibrant colour and its unique range of gold leaf tessera, provides special creative potential for distinctive space concepts.
